  1. Lovely setting. Suggest stepping stones to bathrooms and laundry going up steep hill in tall grass. Remove mention about pool since not operational.

  2. Our stay last night and today was great! We arrived late, but that was not a problem. We were quickly greeted and escorted to our site. The area is beautiful and quiet and the hookups were well maintained. We travel I29 a few times a year and will definitely stay here again! Thank you for the hospitality!

  3. Iam inquiring on your camp ground. Wanting to no how much it is monthly. And if you have any opening by the lake. We are looking for this to be a permanent living place. Looking for a campwr or rv right at this time. So would like all information you could provide me. Thanks

      Currently, our monthly rate is 455.00. Cable is additional 40.00. At this time, we do not have any monthly sites available. However, our availability can change rapidly.   6. I think it would be wise to expand your venue to occomodate the obviously high number of eager customers. You could really make a profit off of this. Think of the DOLLAS AND CENTS!

      Sandy and I aren’t trying to get rich off of this event. We would rather not overbook and ruin our guest’s experience. Additionally, we do not want to damage our grounds and facilities. We still have to provide for our guests after this event. We don’t believe in taking advantage of our guests.

  7. We have never been camping here and it is a very nice and pretty here, but now I can see why we were the only ones with a tent. I certainly would not recommend this place because all you can hear is the traffic off the interstate. We didn’t realize it was that close. Next time we will make sure before we pay that we check it out first. Very very hard to sleep.

      We are sorry that you were disturbed by the Interstate. It is a double edged sword. While it offers convenience, to get here, it does have some noise. As for other tent campers, we had an additional three campers that were here during your stay. Additionally, we have many tent campers that come to enjoy our campground as repeat customers. While we will work, to continue improving our park, there are some things that we cannot control.

      • Yes you do have a nice area but for us its our fault we didn’t check out before we paid. We enjoy a more quiet area when we go camping not one that you can’t even sleep due to the interstate. Also we saw only one tent there at early morning. Its. More for RVs which there was alot of.

  11. The wife and I stayed the night of 29 April 2019. The stay was great, super service. The campground is in pristine shape. Only one drawback is you have to drive down a gravel road for a short distance. If I am in the area again we will stay there. OH yea great prices also. Military Friendly.

    • Yes, we are open. You can contact us either by email at aokexit53@gmail.com or phone at 816-324-4263 for more information. Currently, we are limiting to RV campers only (no tent campers), and we are postponing opening our pool. Everyone seems to be doing fine, with social distancing.

    • I apologize for the late reply. We do not have family campsites, as you describe them. However, when we have the availability, we have campsites with common yards. In other words, we can place a camper on two sites that face each other across a common yard. Therefore, it makes a larger yard area with two fire rings and picnic tables. Again, the two sites would have to be available to reserve together.

  15. Sandy & Dale, sorry this is late but we just wanted to thank you two for a great time while staying at your park. We were there for almost 4 months while our daughter recuperated from surgery. That was our second visit to the park and hopefully we will be able to visit again in the near future. (after winter maybe, lol) again, Thanks for a great stay at your beautiful park.

  16. We have stayed here on two separate weekend long occasions now (including this weekend). This place is great! I have a 1 and 4 year old. They LOVE the playground! Also the fishing is great, especially for kids! We are from the area, so the convenience is great obviously. The staff have been very friendly as well. We have even been fortunate enough on both of our weekends to have some very nice children around for our boys to play with, not to mention a very friendly family this weekend that we plan to try to camp with in the future! Highly recommended establishment, particularly for a weekend getaway.

  17. Are pets allowed. I plan on visiting your places for a few days.
    I have an emotional support dog. She is certified by my VA doctor.
    Will be in a 23 ft trailer with slide outs.

  18. Once again, we have had a wonderful time staying at AOK. Thank you for such a beautiful place to take a break from life’s stressors and enjoy a time where the biggest decision is to fish from the dock or from our kayaks. We were so thankful for the site closer to the lake. That was a nice surprise when we arrived!
    We love spending time at AOK!

  23. Great campground, easy to find, and conveniently located right off the interstate. It was very quiet and the campground is well maintained. Great owners! I cannot stress this enough. We were running late for our arrival time and I called to let them know, they stayed past closing time to wait for us and escorted to our site. I highly recommend!
